Now that I work from home, I share an office with my two big bookshelves. Some books, I've read and loved. Some, remind me of achievements that seem so long ago. But, then there are those that I've been meaning to cook from and they taunt me. Many of my 75+ cookbooks fit into the latter category.
I love flipping through cookbooks - seeing the beautiful pictures and imagining who I'd cook which dish for. I am a cookbook buying junkie - something I got from my Dad. I've inherited many of his cookbooks too - many older and fussier than I would usually cook.
Maybe it's the fact that I've been cooped up in the house for 9 months cooking 3 meals a day for the 3 of us and I'm bored of the choices, maybe it's the new year's clarion call to action, but I've decided that in 2021 I will cook at least one recipe from each book. Yes, my name is Juliet, but this isn't a Julie & Julia situation.
